We raise grass-fed and grass-finished beef and lamb on our 5th generation family farm. The animals graze our pastures or eat hay (alfalfa, other legumes and grasses) all their lives. They are not fed any type of grains at any point in their lives. We also do not give them hormone implants (growth promotants) or antibiotics. If one of our animal requires antibiotic treatment we remove them from our grass-fed, all natural program and sell them separately. We offer our beef in a variety of size packages to fit a variety of consumption patterns. Beginning in the late fall (November) we sell quarter (approx 90 lbs of meat) and half beef (approx 180 lbs of meat) orders. We require a $100 deposit for a quarter beef, and $200 deposit on a half beef order. These are sold by the hanging weight of the animal-so the total price varies a bit. Half beef orders are custom cut by our USDA inspected butcher to the customer's specifications. Orders are filled in the order deposits are received. We also offer a CSA type half beef subscription. In this plan the customer receives twelve 15 lbs deliveries of mixed beef cuts (steaks, roasts, and ground beef). The total amount of meat received is approximately equal to the meat of a half beef order. The bundles are delivered over 12-24 months to the families on the plan. Bundles are delivered to the Salt Lake Winter Market at the Rio Grant (Nov-April) or the Downtown SLC Farmers Market (June-Oct). A deposit of $110 plus tax is required, and can be used to pay for the final delivery. We also offer whole and half grass-fed lamb orders. A whole lamb typically yields about 40 lbs of meat. We require a $25 deposit for a half lamb, and $50 deposit on a whole lamb order. These are sold by the hanging weight of the animal-so the total price varies a bit. Both whole and half lamb orders are custom cut by our USDA inspected butcher to the customer's specifications. We also offer our meat by the pound, and our beef in 3 smaller bundles. See our website for our current prices. We are considering adding a wool CSA to our offerings. You will receive a portion of a ewe's fleece as yarn or roving. The wool will be processed (washed, carded, and spun) by Spinderella's Creations in SLC.
