Blue Spring Farm

We started our first gardening adventures together in the 80's. We continued expanding our personal vegetableand fruit growing when we purchased a home and replaced much of the yard with growing beds.

Tamara has a degree in horticulture and has worked in many areas of the industry. Randy has worked in all aspects of the restaurant business. Our combined desire to grow and eat healthy, flavorful vegetables pointed us in the direction of becoming full time farmers. We purchased our 6 acre farm in Bothwell in 1999, which is located 7 miles northwest of Tremonton off I-84. We began growing on the farm in 2001 on a very small scale and started selling at the Salt Lake Farmers Market in 2002. We increased our production as we could each year while we built a house and transitioned out of our jobs in Salt Lake. We were able to start our CSA program in 2009.

We grow organically, no artificial/chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and concentrate on improving and keeping our soil healthy. Most of the vegetable varieties we grow are heirlooms or open pollinated crops. We also save seed from our crops which makes them somewhat more suited to our growing conditions. We currently grow vegetables and herbs. We planted some fruit trees in 2011 and look forward to being able to add fruit to our shares in the future.

Our CSA will run for 18 weeks beginning the first part of June, weather dependent. Deliveries to the Salt Lake area are Tuesday afternoon. We currently have drop off locations in East Millcreek, Sugarhouse, Avenues and Tremonton
