The Mission of Sol Food Farms is to produce sustainable, locally-grown food for all.

We strive to meet organic standards and accomplish our mission by:
Growing foods best suited for our climate, diversifying, maximizing growing conditions, encouraging healthy crop rotations, and by investing in appropriate technology to maintain and increase productivity.

Sol Food seeks to create partnerships and synergistic relationships among farmers, landowners, workers, food producers, retail outlets, and others. Sol Food is guided by service and continually seeks creative solutions to provide healthful food options to all, while maintaining a sustainable business foundation.

Sol Food is trying a new CSA Program that may be a bit different from others you've seen.

Here's how it works:

If you want to support Sol Food Farms, you can buy Sun Dollars anytime in 2010.
Pay any amount you choose, we'll match your US Dollars with Sun Dollars.

You spend your Sun Dollars on any of our products throughout the season: fresh fruit and vegetables, canned goods, eggs, prepared food, etc.

If you buy a "Share" for $200.00, we will give you 210.00 Sun Dollars to spend throughout the season.
You spend your Sun Dollars when and how you want.

Sun Dollars are completely transferable, so you can give them as gifts.
We will send Sun Dollars to your recipient if you provide their address.

Financial nuts and bolts:

Any amount is welcome. We'll pay immediate interest on purchases of $200 or more.

Buy a share between $200 - 349; get an immediate 5% return on investment (i.e. $210 to $366 credit)

$350 - 500 Share: 10% return (i.e. $385 - $550 credit)

We're also working to develop a "Pick Your Own" program, but that will need some smoothing out.
In this situation, you (the Buyer) are invited to the Farm to peruse the rows and pick your own produce.
