List of Produce Grown: Our Summer CSA Veggie Share runs 18 weeks, starting
June 18, 19, 20. The Summer share begins the season in a similar manner
as our spring share with lots of spring greens such as lettuce, arugula,
kale, beet greens, spinach, mustard greens, kohlrabi, etc...and then moves
with the summer season into more traditional crops such as beans, peas,
beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, radishes, corn, cucumbers, eggplant,
garlic, basil, onions, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, pumpkins, summer
squash, winter squash, swiss chard. While every season is different our
goal and what we plant for is 7-8 different veggies a week bunched or
bagged as you would find them in the fresh food section of the grocery
store. Picture a bunch of pre-banned spinach, broccoli, chard, carrots,
beets, radish, a head of lettuce, etc...A good way to get an idea of the
amount of produce you will recieve each week is to grab a basket at the
grocery store and put 7-8 differnt items in it and that is about what a
share will look like. The summer share is very much ruled by the natural
flow of our Utah growing season starting off with smaller amounts of
produce in June and July, peaking with the heaviest harvest month in
September then backing down again as we move into October. Certified
Organic.
